" Like a river flows, surely to the sea
Darling so it goes, somethings are meant to be.."
Over ten years ago, I had met Danielle in an under populated Catholic school with a sad excuse of a track and too many teenage romances to count. We shared birthday parties in the warm summer month of June, even reaching twenty one, celebrating by the beach, visiting each other at college ( Oh, college), keeping close before the social networking revolution began. Disposable cameras & swimming pools, falling in love & late nights, discovering the ups and downs of growing up & even moving away, I have shared a lifetime of memories with the tall and lanky smiley girl from my track team. Being one of my oldest friends, I felt a great honor when she had asked me to capture her wedding in Mexico. Upon meeting Eric, I had noticed he kept his hand on her lower back as he lead her into a crowd of people. I knew in an instant how much he adored her. His charm, intelligence and welcoming spirit had me so happy for Danielle.
Their day was a breezy 87 degrees on the gorgeous beaches of Playa Del Carmen. As they exchanged vows, I had a hard time keeping my tears from flooding my view finder. An intimate ceremony of close family and friends turned into a dance party which lead to shutting the resort down for late night karaoke. We had ridiculous fun and the day couldn't have been more memorable. She was incredibly stunning, with a glow that didn't come from the sun but from sheer happiness. Thank you to Eric & Danielle for letting Shawn and I snap a few moments of the beginning of your long history as husband and wife.
All of my best to you both in Vietnam. We'll be seeing you shortly!
