eric & danielle.

" Like a river flows, surely to the sea
Darling so it goes, somethings are meant to be.."

Over ten years ago, I had met Danielle in an under populated Catholic school with a sad excuse of a track and too many teenage romances to count. We shared birthday parties in the warm summer month of June, even reaching twenty one, celebrating by the beach, visiting each other at college ( Oh, college), keeping close before the social networking revolution began. Disposable cameras & swimming pools, falling in love & late nights, discovering the ups and downs of growing up & even moving away, I have shared a lifetime of memories with the tall and lanky smiley girl from my track team. Being one of my oldest friends, I felt a great honor when she had asked me to capture her wedding in Mexico. Upon meeting Eric, I had noticed he kept his hand on her lower back as he lead her into a crowd of people. I knew in an instant how much he adored her. His charm, intelligence and welcoming spirit had me so happy for Danielle.

Their day was a breezy 87 degrees on the gorgeous beaches of Playa Del Carmen. As they exchanged vows, I had a hard time keeping my tears from flooding my view finder. An intimate ceremony  of close family and friends turned into a dance party which lead to shutting the resort down for late night karaoke. We had ridiculous fun and the day couldn't have been more memorable.  She was incredibly stunning, with a glow that didn't come from the sun but from sheer happiness. Thank you to Eric & Danielle for letting Shawn and I snap a few moments of the beginning of your long history as husband and wife.

All of my best to you both in Vietnam. We'll be seeing you shortly!

jennifer & patrick.

Ah, I met Jenny so many years ago (long, funny story to be left untold) and we instantly clicked as if we have known each other for ages. Our love for photography, the ocean, Conor Oberst, fall leaves and brunching left us close friends. I was thrilled and honored when she had asked me to shoot her engagement. With my trip to Spain and deadlines I had to meet to her being sick, we rescheduled this session around 3 times. And as a firm believer in there being a reason for everything, I am so glad we did. The day was perfect, the leaves were a stunning yellow and the light of the sun gave us just enough warmth to walk the streets of Brooklyn with total comfort. Patrick was wonderfully cooperative and witty, and his eyes never left Jenny for a second. I am ecstatic she found such a great guy to spend the rest of her days and share her heart with.

I am so happy for you both. Enjoy the shots of this gorgeous fall day in Cobble Hill.

Cheers.

This is the first day of my life.
I swear I was born right in the doorway.
I went out in the rain,
Suddenly everything changed they're spreading,
Blankets on the beach.

Yours is the first face that I saw.
I think I was blind before I met you.
I don't know where I am.
I don't know where I've been.
But I know where I want to go.

dana & marc.

If you were falling, then I would catch you.
You need a light, I'd find a match.

Cause I love the way you say good morning.
And you take me the way I am.

If you are chilly, here take my sweater.
Your head is aching, I'll make it better.

Cause I love the way you call me baby.
And you take me the way I am.

I'd buy you Rogaine when you start losing all your hair.
Sew on patches to all you tear.

Cause I love you more than I could ever promise.
And you take me the way I am.
